Edward J. McElroy Jr., 86, of Pawtucket, died Wednesday, June 18th at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Doris I. (Moreau) McElroy. They had been married 62 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Catherine (Lanigan) McElroy.

Mr. McElroy was employed as a shipping supervisor for Priority Finishing prior to his retirement. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. McElroy was an avid Yankee fan.

His daughters Kathleen A. Tanguay and Lisa A. Lisi of Lincoln; his sons Edward J. McElroy III of Brockton, MA and Steven M. McElroy of Lincoln; his sisters Rita Lachut of Cumberland, Theresa Downarowicz of Cape Cod, MA, Helene Murray of Providence and Patricia Moran of Pawtucket; his brother James McElroy of Lincoln; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive him. He was the brother of the late Marguerite Ray, Marie Sorel, Elizabeth Massey, Anne Laliberte and Francis McElroy.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:30 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Pine St., Pawtucket. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 pm.
