Dora Coulombe Lagasse

Dora Coulombe Lagasse, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1st surrounded by family. She returned to the Father at 95 after serving Him well for all of those years.

Dora was born in Haverhill, MA, and married Robert O. Lagasse in 1944. They moved to Lincoln in 1953 with their 4 daughters where she resided until 2005. She received the “Man of the Year” award in 1958 from the Lincoln-Cumberland Fraternal Order of Police for saving the life of a little girl.

A faithful communicant and active member of St. Jude Church in Lincoln, she volunteered with the Friendly Visitors and Lincoln Senior Center. After Robert passed away in 1980, she volunteered for 11 years and served on the board of the Blackstone Valley Emergency Shelter for Abused Children, a mission they had shared before his passing.

Dora is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law: Donna and Bruce Andrews of Shrewsbury, MA, Linda and the late Raymond Elderkin of Lincoln, RI, Gail and Robert Faria of Beverly Hills, FL, and Roberta (Robin) and Robert Langevin of Cumberland, RI. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather to honor Dora’s life and caring for others at calling hours on Tuesday morning, December 9, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street in Lincoln.
