Jeanne (Grenier) Banville

Jeanne (Grenier) Banville, 74, of The Villages of Lady Lake, FL died January 30, 2015 with her family at her side. Born in Central Falls, RI, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Blanche (Campbell) Grenier. Jeanne and her husband Raymond lived in Lincoln until they moved to The Villages of Lady Lake in 1997.

She is survived by Raymond, their sons Michael and Marc, and their spouses, Sean and Meta, respectively. She is also survived by her sister Claire (Grenier) Deane of Chicago, IL, her husband Sam and their daughters Joanna and Laura. In addition, she has many family and friends in New England, Florida, Chicago and California.

Jeanne was a devoted wife and mother and a dear friend to many both in Rhode Island and in The Villages of Lady Lake and it's nearby communities.  She was part of The Village’s Rhode Island Club, serving on its board for a number of years, and was active in The Village’s garden, food and photography clubs as well as Red Sox Nation.  She loved dancing, painting and experimenting with new recipes. 

Jeanne’s passion for the past 25+ years however was travel.  She graduated from the Travel School of America in Boston, MA and held numerous certifications from the Dale Carnegie Institute and several boards of tourism, such as Australia and Scotland.  She was the owner of the Spunky Ladies and Travelers, LLC travel group.  She created a diverse community of friends and engaging travel adventures for her Spunky Ladies and their companions to places near and far.  Her favorite trip of all was her 70th birthday trip visiting the lavender fields of northwestern Washington.

Services to celebrate Jeanne’s life will begin with calling hours on Friday, April 10, 5-8 PM at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln, RI 02865. (In memory of Jeanne, please wear something lavendar!) A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 11 at 11 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 165 Power Road, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
