William F. "Bill" Leddy, Jr.

William F. "Bill" Leddy, Jr., 87, of Lincoln, a retired Gunnery Sergeant of the U.S. Marine Corps, died on April 1, 2016. He was the husband of Theresa (St.Amour) Leddy. They had been married for 63 years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late William F. and Anna B. (Coleman) Leddy.  He had been a resident of Attleboro, MA prior to moving to Lincoln in 1986.

Mr. Leddy was the Function Manager of the Golden Antler Room of the Attleboro Elks Club for 18 years prior to his retirement. He previously had served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1947 to 1968.

He was an Honorary Life Member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, Lodge #1014 of Attleboro, MA and had the honor of serving as its Exalted Ruler in 1973-1974.

Besides his wife he leaves his sons Michael and his wife Elizabeth of Newport, RI and Richard of Attleboro, MA; a daughter Karen A. Hazard and her husband Paul of North Smithfield; five grandchildren, Kerin, Kalyn, Madeline & Meghan Leddy and Oliver Hazard; and a sister Ann Leddy-Smith of Coventry. He was the brother of the late Bernardine C. Guillette and Barbara A. Forsythe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 9, 2016 at 10:00 in Historic St. Joseph Church, 1303 Mendon Road, Cumberland.  Burial will be private.

Calling hours are on Friday evening from 6-8 at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln. 

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Bill’s memory to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul c/o St. Joseph Church would be appreciated.
