Mary Evelyn "Evie" Walmsley

Mary Evelyn "Evie" Walmsley, 95, formerly of Central Falls, passed away Friday at Grandview Center, Cumberland.  She was  the wife of the late John A. “Gus” Walmsley.

Born in East Providence, she was the daughter of the late George T. and Mary E. (Howard) Butler.

Mrs. Walmsley had been employed as an assembler for Schoolhouse Candy.  She had been a member of Holy Trinity Mother’s Club, and an active resident at Wilfrid Manor.  She enjoyed traveling and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

Evie is survived by her family, John M. and his wife Cindy Walmsley of Cumberland, William H. Walmsley and Denise Brochu of Lincoln and Kathleen A. Bouchard and Rich Casey of North Smithfield; grandchildren Scott, Alison, Ryan, Keith, Lindsay and Julia; great grandchildren Brenden, Samuel, Will and Hannah and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late John J., George T. and James F. Butler.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:30 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket.  Calling hours are Monday evening from 4-8. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Evie’s memory to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (Team Walmsley) would be appreciated.
