Marilyn Erickson Esposito, 76, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Miriam Hospital in Providence.  She was the wife of the late Dr. Ronald Esposito.

She was born in Evanston MI, the daughter of the late Dr. Clifford and Mrs. Mildred (Brinkmeier) Erickson.

Marilyn graduated from Michigan State University with a Master’s Degree in Education.

While studying at the university she met her husband Ronald. 

In 1970, the family moved to Rhode Island where Dr. Esposito accepted a position at Rhode Island College.

In 1988, Marilyn founded and created Local Hero Deli with her son Andrew. Marilyn created the recipes that made Local Hero a
success.

The most popular dishes were Marilyn's famous macaroni salad along with mile high lasagna and brownies.

"She was an amazing chef that taught me everything I know" said Andrew.

Marilyn was a devoted New England Patriots fan and never missed watching a game.

She is survived by her son Andrew and his wife Julie Esposito and their children Christian and Cameron of Lincoln and her daughter Laura and her husband Paul Perfetto and their son Louis of Hannibal, MO.  She was the sister of late Dr. Bruce Erickson.

A private burial will take place in Hannibal, MO.
