Muriel S. McGinness, 76, of Lincoln, passed away at home on July 18, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late James R. McGinness. Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Burton and Laurentia (Fortin) Sweeney.

Muriel was a maternity nurse with St. Joseph's and Our Lady of Fatima Hospitals for over 40 years. She was a graduate of Our Lady Fatima Nursing School.

She loved her family and was a life-long loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox. Muriel could always be found stopping to look at every baby carriage that passed by as she loved infants and children.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather McGinness of Pawtucket, her sons, David McGinness of Mathews, North Carolina and Marc McGinness of Lincoln, her sister, Jeanne Andrews-Stock of Lincoln, two grandsons, two grandaughters, and Deborah Zona, who resided with her aunt to care for her.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:15 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church (upper church), 103 Pine St., Pawtucket.

Visitation will take place at the Funeral Home prior to the mass from 8:45 – 10:15 am. Burial will be private.
